Non-Woven Bags: Heat-Sealed or Sewn Construction for Custom Orders?
A practical buyer guide to non-woven bags, covering specification, sample approval, MOQ and delivery checks for custom orders.

Begin with intended use

Measure the packed products and specify the intended load, carrying method and reuse expectations. Confirm usable internal dimensions as well as finished external size. Lightweight garments and dense boxed products place different demands on a bag. Prepare a representative packed set for sample approval so the construction decision is tied to the actual application.

Identify how each seam is made

Heat-sealed construction bonds compatible material, while sewn construction joins panels with stitches. Neither label describes every seam detail or guarantees a particular carrying performance. Ask how the bottom is formed, how handles are attached and whether methods are combined. Request close-up photographs and an assembled physical sample, then record the actual construction on the specification.

Assess material with the assembled bag

Confirm material composition, basis weight and colour. Compare opacity, surface feel and behaviour under the intended load. Basis weight helps define the material but cannot prove finished-bag strength by itself. Seams and handle fixings must be assessed together. Request supporting documentation for recycled-content or other environmental claims, including which components the claim covers.

Check handle comfort and attachment

Specify handle width, length and clearance above the opening. Try a filled sample for hand or shoulder carry as intended. Inspect attachment points before and after the agreed trial for tearing, separation, loose stitches or distortion. Agree the trial conditions and acceptance criteria rather than turning a brief demonstration into a general load rating.

Match printing to the surface

Supply logo dimensions, placement and colour requirements. Ask which printing process suits the material and artwork coverage. Review fine lines and small text at actual size. Check the assembled bag so folds and seams do not hide the logo. Where appearance is critical, approve a sample on the selected material and retain it with the final artwork.

Separate commercial and approval milestones

Request MOQ by size, material colour, printing and construction. Ask whether stock colours affect the minimum or production timing. Compare setup charges, sample costs, packing and delivery terms. Confirm when the production clock starts and how revisions affect it. Request carton dimensions and packing quantities before comparing freight options or agreeing a required arrival date.

Quotation Checklist

• Product use, packed dimensions and intended load. • Finished dimensions, measurement order and tolerances. • Material, colour, construction and reinforcement. • Handle dimensions, attachment and surface finish. • Logo artwork, placement and colour approval reference. • Quantity by size/design, MOQ and setup charges. • Sample requirements, acceptance criteria and revision costs. • Packing quantities, carton measurements and labels. • Required arrival date, destination and delivery terms. • Inspection arrangements and reference samples for reorders.
Send this specification with a product photograph or representative packed sample when requesting a quotation. Ask the supplier to list assumptions and alternatives separately so you can compare offers on the same basis.

BULK ORDERS & SAMPLE APPROVAL

Planning a bulk or repeat packaging order?

Paper bags start at 500 pieces. Selected shopping and garment bag styles may support 100–200 pieces; confirm the style and specification. Gift boxes, wrapping paper and jewelry pouch MOQs are quoted separately.

Request a specification-based quotation

Send product type, finished dimensions, quantity per design, print and finish, destination postal code and required arrival date. If planning 1,000, 3,000 or 5,000 pieces, ask for a separate price at each quantity. Include your reorder forecast when available.

Confirm the sample before bulk production

Describe the product, insert and any special opening mechanism. Ask which structural or printed sample is needed, and confirm sample, tooling and delivery charges before approval.
