Size the pouch around the actual jewellery
Provide the packed dimensions of the necklace, bracelet or ring presentation, including cards and protective sleeves. State whether the pouch holds a loose item or an inner gift box. A nominal flat pouch dimension does not describe its usable opening after the drawstring is closed.
Check the usable space below the drawstring
Request a drawing that identifies overall height, drawstring channel position and usable internal space. Test loading and removal with the actual product. Leave enough room for the closure without forcing the jewellery against the seam. Photograph the approved packed sample to make the fit reproducible.
Approve fabric and lining as separate choices
Ask for fibre composition, fabric construction and lining details. A soft hand feel does not establish that a material will protect every jewellery finish. Check visible lint, colour transfer and snagging with a representative product and agree suitable evaluation conditions with the supplier. Avoid unsupported anti-tarnish claims.
Review seams and drawstrings
Look inside the sample for rough seam edges and loose threads. Open and close it repeatedly and check that the cord ends remain secure. Confirm cord material, colour and length, plus whether a single or double drawstring is required. Decorative beads need approval where they could contact the contents.
Keep logo details readable at finished size
Send vector artwork and define the logo dimensions and position from finished edges. Ask whether the chosen fabric supports the requested print or other decoration. Inspect a decorated physical sample for edge clarity and surface marks. Approve the logo after the pouch is sewn, because seams and gathering change the visible panel.
Coordinate the pouch with the outer pack
Place the pouch in the proposed gift paper box with the insert, card and gift wrapping paper. Check whether packing compresses the cords or changes presentation. For private label packaging, record the pouch and outer box as separate SKUs linked to one approved pack-out reference.
Quotation checklist
• Jewellery and inner-pack dimensions
• Finished pouch size and usable opening
• Fabric composition, colour and lining
• Drawstring details and seam finish
• Logo artwork, size and position
• Quantity by size and colour, MOQ
• Decorated sample and pack-out approval
• Carton packing and delivery destination
Confirm production assumptions before ordering
Request a quotation that identifies fabric availability, sampling cost, decoration setup and quantity breaks. Agree how substitutions will be approved and when the delivery clock starts. Send the actual product or a dimensionally accurate substitute for fit approval instead of relying only on an empty pouch photograph.
